Apologies for the very short notice of this message but I would like
to draw your attention to the symposium described below which is part
of the 8th European Palaeobotany - Palynology Conference, to be held
in Budapest, Hungary 6-10th July 2010 http://eppc2010.org/

SYMPOSIUM 19 - Pollen Plus! Multidisciplinary records of
environmental change over the last 1000 years
Co-conveners: Sheila Hicks and Malgorzata Latalowa

This session welcomes contributions of research results in which the
pollen record is combined with at least one, but preferably several,
other proxy records e.g. testate amoebae, diatoms, chironomids,
non-pollen palynomorphs, spheroidal carbonaceous particles, plant
macro fossils, tree-rings, isotopes etc., to produce a detailed and
quantified reconstruction of past environments. The environmental
question focused on may be climate change, anthropogenic activities,
hydrology, pollution etc., the importance is the &amp8216added
value&amp8217 obtained from combining pollen with something else.
Particular attention should be given to the last 1000 years and a
high temporal resolution of the record but reconstructions which
extend over longer periods of the Holocene will also be considered.
Reconstructions are welcomed from any geographical area and at any
spatial scale.

Deadline for abstract submission 15th March 2010!
